River Ganga is of great importance in Bihar and to promote tourism in river Ganges, the tourism department launched a floating river boat on February 3 in Patna.
The floating ship is divided into two floors and has a restaurant, a conference hall and a VIP lounge with a capacity of 30 people. The restaurant has a capacity of 48 seats.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said, “M.V. The Vihar was established to better serve the people of Patna. There is a large scope for tourism in Bihar. People from Patna and Bihar can enjoy their birthday or other celebrations on this ship.
The state has a larger tourist footprint than Goa. Be it 'Pind Daan' or those visiting the state from many South Asian Buddhist countries. The challenge is to ensure that tourists spend more time in the state.
